Welcome Cara, The Team Grows!
September 23, 2024
Please meet our Producer, Cara Mitsuko! We are excited and elated to have Cara lend her talents, time, and enthusiasm to make Flaming Match a reality!
Cara is an actress and producer born and raised in California. After gaining her degree in theatre performance from San Diego State University, she originated the lead role in Luis Valdez's play Valley of the Heart. She then broke into TV with the fiery role of Sarah on Amazon Studios’ The Man In The High Castle.

Her incisive and passionate nature has allowed her to work on many different sets in different capacities from art department p.a. to assistant director to producer. She produced her first feature in 2022 (currently in post-production) and has produced numerous short films and web series episodes. She is currently in pre-production on a second feature and development on a third. Cara is thrilled to be coming on board as part of the Flaming Match team!

When Cara isn’t acting or producing, she’s lifting something heavy, reading a new science book or re-watching Reign for the 22nd time.

The BUCK-NAKED Story
September 16, 2024
So here we are about to get things going into actual production, very exciting. The narrative story was written about a year ago, well, actually completed with a set of actual readings with great actors then modifications to really hone the tale.

Why tell a story about middle-aged, gay, people struggling in relationships you ask? First of all there are, believe it or not, actual middle-aged, gay people struggling in relationships in real life... happens, it really does.

Everyone wants to be loved, give love but sometimes we get in our own way and in the cases of the Flaming Match characters, getting in their own way of their relationships is a high art. The story is a romantic comedy but is very rooted in truth and the fact that if you're a human being you have a heart (even the ones who protect it) and connection matters. So it was all that ball-of-wax we took a fun 5 minute improv short and wrote a actual narrative exploring the reality of such characters and we are excited to tell this story on the big (and mobile) screen.
